Goat Breeds Upgrading for Meat Production Project

For improving the meat production, the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rangelands has started the Goat Breeds Upgrading for Meat Production Project through importation of Boer and Kalahari breeds from South Africa on June 28th of 2012. For the above breeds are very prominent of the potentialities and high productivity of meat as they are wide spread in Central and Eastern African countries beside USA. It is the first time in Sudan to import foreign goat breeds for the purpose of improving meat production. 

The Goat Breeds Upgrading for Meat Production Project targets improving goat breeds all over Sudan depending on the scientific approaches and modern technologies so as to realize higher productivity and high quality products that are able to compete as exports through minimization of production costs and realization of higher profitability. This is to be accomplished by good management
